Final DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops II is Apocalypse
Two new multiplayer maps, two classic maps, and zombies
The final episode of Call of Duty: Black Ops II Downloadable Content Season Pass program is called Apocalypse.
With Apocalypse, Activision and Treyarch have partnered with rock band Avenged Sevenfold, who contribute the song Shepherd of Fire from their upcoming album to the Zombies experience, which will be featured in the intro cinematic video for Origins. In this new Origins mode, players will be deployed to World War I-era France where they will encounter the return of the four original heroes from the very first Zombies map, Tank, Nikolai, Takeo, and Rictofen, as well as hordes of zombies that have overrun trenches and fields, as well as the ruins of an ancient location.
Also included are four multiplayer maps. Pod offers a failed utopian community from the 70’s that has left stacks of dilapidated residential pods nestled into an abandoned cliff side in Taiwan. In Frost, snow meets explosive gunpowder in a snow-capped European city, where the bridge over a frozen canal separates it into two sides.
Takeoff sees a remote launch site in the middle of the Pacific Ocean that is all about close-quarters combat. Dig, meanwhile, is an adaptation of the Courtyard World at War, where two archeological dig sites in Afghanistan become a war zone. Both these classic maps have been updated to provide more paths and combat scenarios.
Apocalypse will be available first exclusively on Xbox Live for the Xbox 360 for 1200 Microsoft Points on August 27, with other platforms to follow.
