Minecraft coming to retail in June
Popular downloadable title gets a store release
Microsoft has confirmed that Minecraft will soon be available for purchase in-store on Xbox 360.
The disc version of the popular building game will be available beginning June 25 for $19.99. Fans can now experience the game straight from disk and also get an Xbox LIVE Gold 14-day trial subscription with the purchase.
Minecraft is a sandbox indie game originally created by Swedish programmer Markus "Notch" Persson and later developed and published by Mojang. It was publicly released for the PC on May 17, 2009, as a developmental alpha version and, after gradual updates and increased popularity, was published as a full release version on November 18, 2011. The Xbox 360 version followed on May 9, 2012.
