Final Fantasy XIV closed beta this week

Square Enix have announced that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will enter the Closed Beta phase for the Windows PC today Monday, February 25.
Closed Beta players will be able to try out the new Full Active Time Events, or “FATE,” as part of the new gameplay system. Players can participate in these randomly occurring events by simply being within proximity of the event, without the need to form parties.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is the relaunch of the MMO that has been completely rebuilt from the ground up to improve all systems, gameplay and player experience.
The game will release this summer for Windows PC and the PlayStation 3.
