New video has been released for Batman Arkham Asylum 2 at the Spike TV VGA.

A trailer has been released for the next adventures of Batman, a sequel to Arkham Asylum. Although it doesn't look the the game will be set in Arkham Asylum the title of the video uploaded is Arkham Asylum 2. The trailer makes it look like the game will be set in Gotham City with Joker and Harley Quinn escaping once again. It's probable that the subtitle for the game will not be Arkham Asylum.

A website has been created for the new game.

“We are thrilled to build a global game franchise from Batman: Arkham Asylum, which is receiving an incredible response from gamers and fans of Batman around the world,” said Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Rocksteady has taken Batman to a new level in the video game space and we are committed to delivering a sequel the fans will love.”

“Getting the opportunity to create Batman: Arkham Asylum and seeing its success has been a dream come true for the team,” said Sefton Hill, Game Director, Rocksteady Studios. “We are honoured to create the next chapter in this compelling story and promise to deliver another game worthy of the DARK KNIGHT.”

It doesn't offer any information other than a link to the trailer and the chance to sign up for the newsletter. The background sounds certainly indicated it could be in Gotham City with police cars and train sounds. We will keep you updated
