Battlefield Bad Company 2 PC Beta delayed
The Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta for PC has been delayed to early 2010. Reason being they wanted to increase the number of potential beta players.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 is getting a multiplayer beta on PC early 2010. This beta was delayed in order to allow more gamers to play the beta when it releases. The PC version will have a few enhancements over the PS3 version and / or previous Battlefield games they are as follows:
- 32 Player servers (24 on Consoles)
- Dx9, Dx10, Dx11 graphics support. Including full support for Windows XP, Vista and 7
- Friend / Buddy list
- Ranked Dedicated servers including all the goodies like kicking players etc.
- Clan Support and Server Renting
It is unclear at this point what enchancements DirectX 11 will have on gameplay or graphics if any. The game uses the fFostbite engine which will mean destructible environments such as blowing holes in walls as a tank to attack those hiding inside buildings. This will be the first time PC gamers get the chance to try out the Frostbite engine. The game also still features squad play as previous Battifefield titles have on the PC.
Whether delaying the beta means the retail PC release will also be delayed remains to be seen, however given the game is coming early March it wouldn't be a surprise if the PC version received a delay of a few months.
