It has been announced that video game composer Gerard Marino is set to score The Amazing Spider-Man from Activision.

Marino has already received an HMMA Award Nomination for Best Video Game Score for Spider-Man. The HMMA Awards ceremony will be held in November in Hollywood, CA.

I created three original themes surrounding the major personalities in the game. I created chaotic environments using metallic and electronic sounds with guitar, drums, and strings. Creating a repeating rock ‘n’ roll rhythm using traditional orchestral instruments, including harp and cello, I gave Spider-Man a very distinct sound,” commented the composer.

Marino is best known for composing PlayStation’s God of War series. His recent credits include Spider-Man: Edge of Time and DC Universe Online.

The Amazing Spider-Man video game is a continuation of Columbia’s film, following Peter Parker as he fights Dr. Otto Octavius’s army of robots in Manhattan. Using real-time navigational and combat choices, players fight crime using free-roaming and web-slinging gameplay.

The title is set to launch on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 next week, with a PC version to follow.
