Aliens Vs Predator supports Dedicated servers

Despite rumors suggesting otherwise the upcoming Aliens vs Predator game will support dedicated servers on PC.

Rebellion today have squashed rumours and confirmed that the upcoming Aliens vs Predator game will support dedicated servers on PC.

Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley:

"Despite rumours, Rebellion has always been planning to support dedicated servers for Aliens vs Predator PC and we can now officially confirm that this is the case. Rebellion has always appreciated fan support,"

Previously Rebellion had stated they were unsure if the game would be using dedicated servers because they wanted to ensure PC gamers get the best experience at home. I guess that means the best experience at home on PC means dedicated servers. Good news.

Aliens vs Predator is coming to PS3, 360 and PC early 2010.

It's great to see that the outrage, whether it actually led to any change in sales numbers, over Modern Warfare 2 has led other developers to realize the desires of the PC community. Bad Company 2's diehard support of dedicated servers and this are good signs that servers won't be going away anytime soon.
