Guild Wars 2 beta coming this spring, game to release in 2012
Official confirmation that the upcoming MMO is approaching release
At the official ArenaNet blog, Mike O'Brien has revealed new details about the company's plans for 2012 and Guild Wars 2.
According to the blog post, the first closed beta test for Guild Wars 2 has wrapped up, and plans are now being made to roll out public betas in the future.
"In February we’ll invite select press to participate in beta testing, and in March and April we’ll aggressively ramp up the size of our beta test events so that many of you will have a chance to participate. And of course, this all leads to the release of Guild Wars 2 later this year," says Mike.
This means that it may not be long until players have a chance to try out the ambitious MMO for themselves. The blog suggests that the public beta will be voucher-based, so fans should stay tuned to the game's Facebook and Twitter pages for their chance to snag an entry.
Guild Wars 2 is in development for PC, and will be published by NCSoft.
