Contest kicks off to add custom move to DoA 5

Fans have a chance to get their unique fighting move into the game

Developer Team NINJA has announced today a first time ever opportunity in the Dead or Alive series for fans to design their own move to be implemented into the next installment, Dead or Alive 5.

Participants will go head to head to create a unique new fighting move which will be reviewed and chosen by Team NINJA themselves. The winning move(s) will be implemented into the upcoming game Dead or Alive 5. Further, the original creator’s name will appear in the credits.

“We wanted to create an opportunity to further celebrate and involve our loyal Dead or Alive community in a way that directly rewarded them,” said Yosuke Hayashi, leader of Team NINJA. “By hosting our ‘Make Your Move’ contest, we will be able to see and encourage our fighting fans to play an active and creative role in this next game which is something that really excites and inspires us.”

The contest kicks off on Friday, October 28th on and will close on Friday, November 18th, providing fans three weeks to push their imagination to the limit. Winners will be chosen based on their creativity in design, and understanding of Dead or Alive fighting move techniques. To submit players must draw, write, or act – any expression form is accepted. Entries can be made on the official game website.

Currently in development by Team NINJA, Dead or Alive 5 is scheduled for release in 2012 for both PlayStation3 and XBOX 360 from publisher Tecmo Koei America.
