Modern Warfare 3 to get dedicated servers on PC
Activision plans to fully support dedicated hosting for the upcoming shooter
At Gamescom 2011, Activision has announced that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will indeed support dedicated multiplayer servers.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Noah Heller from Beachhead Studios said "The big announcement today is that we're supporting dedicated servers for PC, which is really cool".
He continued, "And of course we're working really hard right now on the customised version of Elite for the PC, because it's an open platform and has some challenges." What those customizations might involve was not revealed.
Modern Warfare 2 was heavily criticised by the PC community due to its lack of dedicated servers, and Activision has seemingly acted on that feedback.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is scheduled to release on November 8th for Windows PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
