Battlefield 3 not coming to Steam
EA confirms the upcoming shooter will not appear on popular digital service
EA has announced via its forums that the upcoming shooter Battlefield 3 will not be sold through Valve's Steam digital retail service.
EA explains that "Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to deliver patches and other downloadable content. No other download service has adopted these practices."
This announcement comes on the heels of frequent disputes between EA and Valve, which has resulted in other titles from the publisher, such as Dragon Age 2, to be pulled. Valve has yet to officially comment on the situtaion.
Electronic Arts reminded users that BF3 is still available to be purchased via their own digital store, Origin.com, or over 100 other digital retailers.
Battlefield 3 is coming to PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on October 25th.
