NPD: PS3 nears 500k in September
Sales for the PS3 are up thanks to the introduction of the lower priced and newly designed PS3 Slim. Halo ODST sells well.
After the release of the PS3 Slim for $299 early September thoughts turned to the sales numbers of the console in the market. It appears the drop in price has boosted sales of the PS3 up above both the Wii and 360 for the first time ever.

360 seems to be doing better software sales wise, with Halo 3 ODST holding the top spot for September. Although that could well change in October with the big release of Uncharted 2 on the PS3.
