LA Noire will allow players to skip the action
Upcoming game from Rockstar will allow players to skip difficult sections
During the Q&A session at the Tribeca Film Festival, Rockstar's art director, Rob Nelson, has revealed the developer's plans to make LA Noire more user friendly.
He stated that, after failing a certain action sequence two or three times, a message will pop up, asking the player if they'd like to skip this portion. "You can skip those action elements and still experience the bulk of the narrative," said Nelson.
It's a trending change for Rockstar titles, whose classic games such as the GTA series never even had a difficulty setting. Recently though, with Red Dead Redemption, such options were included.
Perhaps the reason for this change is that 80% of "LA Noire" is said to be non-action based. Gameplay involves talking to suspects, finding evidence, and uncovering a mystery. The hour-long case demonstrated at the screening had maybe five minutes of typical GTA-style action.
Word is, players looking for the next GTA will find that LA Noire is even slower and more methodical than Heavy Rain.
LA Noire is coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 17th.
