User created missions coming to InFamous 2
New tools will offer offer players a chance to create new content, Limited Beta in April
Sony announced today via PSBlog that a User-Generated Content feature will make an appearance in InFamous 2. With User-Generated Content, players can build new missions, then share them with the world. This means there will never be a shortage of side quests to undertake, as levels will appear right in your game.
Mission creators will have access to the same set of characters, creatures and props. Players can bend the rules of InFamous 2 to create new kinds of missions, too. Levels with stealth, platforming challenges, missions where Cole is without his powers - there are tons of possibilities.
User-generated missions show up in the world just like regular missions. When you walk up to them, you see the PSN tag of the mission creator, plus extra information like the mission’s current rating. There will be a Sucker Punch Featured Missions list, as selected by the developers, and those missions will end up just about everyone’s copy of New Marais.
There will be a limited public beta of the creation tools starting in early April. The details on how to sign up for the beta are coming on March 14. InFamous 2 is set to ship this July, only on Playstation 3.
