Dead Space 2 Production Starting Soon
Visceral Games says project is currently in pre-production
Looks like developer Visceral Games is starting to get back into the Dead Space groove again.
A job posting for a Lead Combat & Controls Designer found on social networking site Linkedin (spotted by IGN) says a sequel to Dead Space is currently in pre-production phase with full production ramping up in the next couple months.
"The game is in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months, with many of the navigational and combat mechanics in place," the listing reads. "We have complete autonomy and creative control over our own decisions. The Games Label at EA is 100% committed to this IP, and has already worked on IP extensions such as comic, animated features, and action figures."
While not officially announced, the Dead Space series is reportedly being spun into a trilogy. Visceral Games recently shipped a Nintendo Wii spin-off, Dead Space Extraction, and is currently working the demonic action-title Dante's Inferno, which ships early next year.
