ScootX, First Physics-Driven Scooter Sim, Hits Xbox Series X/S Sept 19
ScootX, the first 100% physics-driven scooter sim, launches on Xbox Series X/S after its Steam Early Access debut, bringing tricks, maps, and updates.
ScootX, a sandbox-style scooter game described as the world’s first 100% physics-driven scooter simulation, is releasing on Xbox. Developed by Mash Games, a studio based in North Vancouver, the game launches on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on September 19, 2025, through Microsoft’s Game Preview program. This will be the first Mash Games title on current-generation Xbox consoles.
The game first appeared on July 4, 2025, when it launched in Steam Early Access and has since built a “Very Positive” rating from more than 700 user impressions. Players on Steam have said the controls feel smooth, tricks are satisfying to pull off, and the maps give plenty of space to explore at one’s own pace. That said, users have reported bugs and gameplay issues, though the majority have said it feels like an early access title, and updates have arrived quickly, sometimes within a day or two.
The Xbox version is expected to include the same updates that were added on Steam during the summer. On August 30, 2025, an update introduced an entirely new map, and a day earlier, the developers added several new tricks and revamped animations. The Xbox Store page for ScootX is live, but does not show the release date, which was instead confirmed by Microsoft in its weekly roundup of upcoming Xbox launches. Console pricing has not yet been announced, though on PC the game sells for $19.99 in the United States and £16.75 in the United Kingdom.
Mash Games previously created PIPE by BMX Streets in 2018 and BMX Streets in 2024, both focused on BMX riding, and ScootX is its first scooter project. The developers describe the game as one where “there’s no wrong way to ride,” and progression is possible no matter the playstyle. Every part of the rider and scooter reacts with physical accuracy, and while trick buttons initiate actions, the results depend on the underlying physics system. Pulling off a new trick can sometimes feel like rolling the dice, with the risk of making the success more rewarding.
The game features skateparks and street spots to ride and includes mod.io integration for community-created maps and content. The design is built around flow, experimentation, and progression through play.
More than three dozen Xbox games arrive the week ScootX launches. LEGO Voyagers, BrokenLore: LOW, Football Heroes League, Goat Out of Hell, Frame Cat, and Parasol Superstars drop September 16, Bio Block and Frostpunk 2 on September 18, then ScootX, Car Mechanic Shop Simulator, and EA Sports FC 26 on September 19.
