GTA 6 Leak Reveals Parody Websites as Rockstar Confirms May 2026 Release
GTA 6 leaks reveal parody websites, new characters, an expanded Vice City map, and Rockstar's confirmed May 26, 2026, release date for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
New details about Grand Theft Auto 6 have surfaced again, this time through the discovery of a set of website domains believed to be linked to Rockstar Games’ next big release. A trusted industry insider, TezFunz2, shared findings on GTAForums after spotting domains registered by Take-Two Interactive on May 27. These names appear to be future in-game websites, continuing a tradition from Grand Theft Auto 4 and 5 where real, functioning domains were tied into the virtual world.
Among the domains are “rydeme.app,” speculated to be GTA’s take on ride-hailing apps like Uber or Lyft, and “what-up.app,” which echoes WhatsApp. Another, “buckme.app,” is thought to parody platforms such as OnlyFans or Patreon. The list also includes “leonidagov.org,” expected to represent the official government portal for the fictional state of Leonida, where GTA 6 is set, and more eccentric names such as “hookers-galore.com,” “brianandbradley.com,” “wipeoutcornskin.com,” and “myboyhasacreepycorndog.com.” Fans quickly recognized Rockstar’s hallmark sense of satire, reminiscent of GTA 5’s iFruit, Bleeter, and Sprunk.
The discovery follows years of leaks. In September 2022, nearly one hundred videos of an unannounced project were posted online. The footage was confirmed by Rockstar to be from Grand Theft Auto 6 after the company admitted to a “network intrusion.” Forums and subreddits were forced to remove the content due to copyright enforcement, and Rockstar stated that development would not be affected. In later remarks, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick described the incident as “terribly unfortunate” but said there was no evidence that material assets had been taken. The teenager accused of the hack, 18-year-old Arion Kurtaj of the Lapsus$ group, was deemed psychiatrically unfit to stand trial.
The timing of the leak coincides with official updates from Rockstar. In December 2023, the studio released the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer after it was forced to push it live early due to a leak. A second trailer arrived in May 2024, introducing more story beats, screenshots, and artwork. Trailer 2 revealed the dual protagonists: Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Lucia, who grew up in Liberty City, is shown leaving prison with aspirations of a better life in Leonida, while Jason, raised among grifters and with a history of drug running, emerges as her partner. Their story, set against Vice City and the wider state of Leonida, carries strong Bonnie-and-Clyde overtones, beginning with a score gone wrong and leading into a conspiracy that stretches across the region.
The second trailer was accompanied by 85 new screenshots that revealed more of the open-world map. Locations include an updated Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Mount Kalaga National Park, Port Gellhorn with its motels and strip clubs, the industrial Ambrosia region, and the swampy Grassrivers.
Rockstar officially confirmed on May 2, 2024, that Grand Theft Auto 6’s release had been delayed. Initially targeted for Fall 2025, it is now scheduled for May 26, 2026. The studio said, “We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game.” The delay was widely discussed, with Ghost of Yotei co-creative director Nate Fox remarking in an interview with MinnMax that developers at Sucker Punch celebrated the news, joking that the studio was still “hungover” months later.
The delay has not stopped fans from analyzing every detail available. A Reddit user pointed out that clouds seen in Trailer 2 appeared more volumetric and advanced than even those in Red Dead Redemption 2, suggesting dramatic storm effects during flights. Another post speculated that 70 percent of buildings in GTA 6 could be enterable. Community responses argued that while such a figure seemed unrealistic, a larger share of interiors could be accessible, particularly lobbies, garages, and rooftops, echoing the design of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Rockstar’s official website confirmed several new characters who will appear alongside Jason and Lucia. Cal Hampton is introduced as Jason’s friend, described as a homebody known for snooping on Coast Guard communications. Boobie Ike is a Vice City legend and businessman who owns a strip club, real estate, and a recording studio. Dre’Quan Priest is an aspiring musician signed under Real Dimez, with connections to Boobie’s strip club. Bae-Luxe and Roxy, also known as Real Dimez, are two friends from high school with a strong social media following who release rap tracks under Only Raw Records. Raul Bautista is presented as an experienced bank robber recruiting new talent, and Brian Heder is described as an older man with a history of drug smuggling during the Keys’ golden age.
Speculation has also surrounded GTA 6’s price. Even though neither Take-Two nor Rockstar has confirmed costs, analysts have suggested it could reach $100. Former Rockstar developers have indicated that PC players may wait beyond 2026, as the initial launch is confirmed only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game will not be released on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
With a reported development scale that some have labeled the most expensive in history, the game has been described by Devolver Digital co-founder Nigel Lowrie as an “AAAAA game,” larger in scope and cultural reach than standard AAA titles. The anticipation is so intense that it has even spilled into novelty betting markets. In recent months, several sportsbooks have priced the likelihood of GTA 6 meeting its May 2026 launch date, with odds heavily favoring the late-May window.
Grand Theft Auto 6’s development was first confirmed in February 2022 during a community update that described the project as “well underway.” In August 2022, Take-Two reiterated that the game was in active development. Since then, official trailers, screenshots, and statements have steadily built the picture of what Rockstar describes as its “biggest, most immersive evolution” yet.
