Battlefield 6 Beta Blocks 330,000 Cheating Attempts in Early Access
Battlefield 6 beta blocked 330K cheating attempts, with over 100K more reported by players, as EA details its Secure Boot and Javelin anti-cheat strategy.
In the early access phase of the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, held from August 7 to August 8, 2025, EA reported that its Javelin anti-cheat system stopped 330,000 separate attempts to cheat or interfere with anti-cheat protections. The figure was shared in an official post on the Battlefield 6 forum by a representative from the game’s SPEAR anti-cheat team, credited simply as “AC.”
Alongside automated blocks, player feedback played a major role in identifying suspicious activity. On the first day alone, 44,000 instances of possible cheating were reported by players. The following day, it added another 60,000 reports. EA confirmed that its Gameplay Integrity team is using these player submissions to strengthen cheat detection for Battlefield 6, and that players confirmed to be cheating are removed from the game.
On PC, Battlefield 6 requires Secure Boot to be enabled before the game can launch. Secure Boot is a security function found in most modern PCs that ensures only trusted, digitally signed code is loaded during system startup. EA stated that this requirement helps prevent cheats that attempt to activate during the boot process and also enables the use of the PC’s Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security chip for additional anti-cheat measures.
The SPEAR anti-cheat post clarified that Secure Boot is not intended to be a complete solution by itself. Instead, it is described as an added barrier that increases difficulty for cheat developers and makes it easier for the system to detect malicious activity. According to the post, certain detection signals can only be trusted when Secure Boot is active. One example provided is that Secure Boot blocks vulnerable drivers from running; if those drivers are found while it is enabled, that indicates suspicious behavior.
EA also said the fight against cheating is ongoing and must adapt, since what works in one game or at one time might not work in another.
From August 7 to August 10, 2025, Battlefield 6 reached the highest concurrent player count in the series on Steam, peaking at over 521,000 players. This number was more than triple the record set by Battlefield 2042 within hours of the beta’s launch. Players also encountered new gameplay options during testing, such as a “Flick Look” setting for an immediate 180-degree camera turn.
A second open beta period is scheduled from August 14 to August 17, 2025. The full release of Battlefield 6 is set for October 10, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
