Xbox and Call of Duty reveal a $1,500 Beavis & Butt-Head controller giveaway with only 3 winners. See entry details, prize info, and crossover updates.

On July 7, 2025, Call of Duty and Xbox announced a sweepstakes giveaway for a limited-edition Xbox Wireless Controller themed around Beavis and Butt-Head. The controller was introduced as part of Call of Duty’s ongoing crossover with the animated characters, who were added to Call of Duty: Warzone and the upcoming Black Ops 6 in a mid-season update released in late June 2025.

The sweepstakes was open to U.S. participants and ran for a 26-hour window, beginning at 1:00 PM Eastern on July 7 and closing at 3:00 PM Eastern on July 8. To enter, participants were required to follow @CallofDuty on Twitter and respond to the giveaway post using the tag “@callofduty” and the hashtag “#CODxBBSweepstakes.” A secondary method allowed email entries to [email protected] with the subject “Call of Duty x Beavis & Butt-Head Xbox Controller Sweepstakes,” including the participant’s full name, complete mailing address including zip code, daytime phone number with area code, and age. According to the official rules posted by Activision, only complete and properly submitted entries were eligible.

Three winners will be selected within 60 days of the contest’s conclusion. Each winner will receive one of the customized Xbox Wireless Controllers. The controller features a light blue case, white bumpers, black thumbsticks, and standard colored face buttons. The Beavis and Butt-Head logo appears across the View and Menu buttons, and the Call of Duty logo is placed below the D-Pad and right stick. The controller includes the full functionality of a standard Xbox Wireless Controller. Activision has listed the approximate retail value of each unit at $1,500 USD, with a total prize pool valued at $4,500 USD.

Alongside the hardware promotion, an in-game Event Pass featuring Beavis and Butt-Head-themed rewards is available to players until July 31.

The controller giveaway coincides with ongoing promotional efforts surrounding Call of Duty’s crossover content. Over the years, Call of Duty has implemented several gameplay and monetization systems that have prompted discussion about gambling-like mechanics. In Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, loot boxes known as supply drops were introduced in 2019. These randomized items contained cosmetic and duplicate content and could be purchased with real money. At the time, the game did not display item probabilities, which led to public criticism over transparency and player spending behavior.

Beavis and Butt-Head were originally introduced in 1993 as part of an MTV animated sitcom created by Mike Judge. The show centers on two teenage boys known for their commentary on music videos and misadventures in their hometown. The series was revived on Paramount+ in 2022. Its eleventh season is scheduled to air on Comedy Central later in 2025.

In addition to the U.S.-based sweepstakes, a separate promotion is active in the UK and Ireland. Xbox is offering a Zenless Zone Zero-themed controller, with entries accepted via Twitter by following @XboxUK and tagging a friend in the replies. The entry deadline is July 15, 2025.

On July 7, 2025, the official Call of Duty Twitter account posted an image of the Beavis and Butt-Head controller with the caption: “The Great Cornholio has entered the lobby 💥 🧻 Comes with TP for your Loadout 🧻 @Xbox @MikeJudge @paramountplus.”

Call of Duty has previously featured collaborations with various public figures and entertainment properties, including footballer Neymar. The Beavis and Butt-Head promotion is the latest addition to this series of cross-branded campaigns.
