Fortnite Event on June 7 May Replace All Skins and Introduce Superhero Season
Find out how the June 7 Fortnite event may transform all player skins into helmet-less Stormtroopers and lead into the launch of Chapter 6 Season 3.
On June 7, 2025, Fortnite will host a major live event called Death Star Sabotage at 2:00 PM Eastern Time. According to a leak by Loolo_WRLD, this event may temporarily transform all player skins into helmet-less Stormtroopers. The transformation is not expected to override the face of the player’s chosen skin – characters will rather wear a Stormtrooper body while keeping their original head. Some skins will reportedly receive custom modifications to make the outfit fit their unique models. This visual change appears to reference the first Star Wars film, in which Luke Skywalker and Han Solo disguise themselves in Stormtrooper armor without helmets.
The event serves as the finale of Fortnite’s current Star Wars-themed mini-season, titled Galactic Battle. This mini-season has included blasters, lightsabers, and character skins like General Grievous, Emperor Palpatine, and Jar Jar Binks. Epic Games has not confirmed the helmet-less Stormtrooper transformation. However, based on previous events and the credibility of the source, the community expects a major in-game shift.
The Death Star Sabotage event will include real-time missions, cinematic cutscenes, and space battles. Players will pilot X-Wings and TIE Fighters during the event. Epic recommends that participants log in 30 minutes early. The event mode will appear in the Discover tab two hours before the event starts.
This event will conclude the Galactic Battle mini-season. Although Epic Games has not stated the length of server downtime, Fortnite could be offline for several hours. The game is expected to return later that day or on June 8, 2025, with the start of Chapter 6 Season 3.
Epic Games has not officially revealed the full theme of Chapter 6 Season 3. However, a teaser referencing “super-scale news” and leaks by HYPEX and ShiinaBR suggests that the next season will be superhero-themed. According to leaks, this season may focus on original superhero concepts, rather than using characters from Marvel. A few of these designs have appeared in recent player surveys sent by Epic Games, and leakers are claiming that the season may include a crossover with the upcoming Superman film, directed by James Gunn, which is set to release on July 11, 2025. There is a rumor that players may be able to transform into Superman during a match, similar to how players could become Godzilla in Chapter 6, Season 1. Epic Games has not confirmed this feature.
The Galactic Battle mini-season has also seen controversy. Fortnite released a Darth Jar Jar skin, which requires over one million XP to unlock. This has frustrated many players, particularly those who don’t have time to complete the XP requirements. Fortnite also released a classic Jar Jar Binks skin. Fans criticized Epic for offering these as separate purchases instead of a single skin with selectable styles.
In addition to gameplay updates, Fortnite recently introduced a fully voiced Darth Vader NPC powered by artificial intelligence. The AI voice was created using the likeness of the late James Earl Jones, who passed away in 2024. The use of an AI version of Vader’s voice has led to legal action. The union SAG-AFTRA is now suing Epic Games, arguing that the AI voice replaced jobs normally held by voice actors.
On the entertainment side, Fortnite launched a rhythm-based mode called Dance with Sabrina on May 30, which will run until June 16. This mode features music from Sabrina Carpenter, including her songs “Espresso” and “Bed Chem.” Players can choose roles like Dance Leader, Camera Director, or Special Effects Pro. At the end of each session, top performers appear in a spotlight moment with Carpenter’s in-game avatar, following previous music partnerships with Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga.
The June Crew Pack includes a new skin called Ayla Winn, which has an arcade-inspired, bubblegum-themed design. The bundle contains the Ayla Winn outfit with multiple edit styles, the Bubble Pop Axe, and the Winn-Streak Back Bling. It also includes 1,000 V-Bucks and grants access to the Battle Pass, LEGO Pass, and Festival Pass.
Fortnite is also back on iOS devices in the United States for the first time since it was removed in 2020 due to a lawsuit over payment systems. On May 20, 2025, Fortnite returned to the iOS App Store after a court ruling determined that Apple violated an injunction that had prevented Epic from using its own payment method. To celebrate the game’s return, Epic Games is offering a free Burnoff skin to all mobile players who log in before June 17. The offer is available to both Apple and Android users and does not require completing any quests or challenges.
In other news, Fortnite may remove the ranked mode from Fortnite OG, which was added in December 2024. This mode was designed to let players experience the original version of Fortnite with ranking features. However, leaker HYPEX reported that Epic might remove ranked play due to issues with “matchmaking health.” A similar removal already occurred in Fortnite OG Zero Build, which lost its ranked option for the same reason. Epic has not confirmed whether Fortnite OG’s ranked mode will be removed, but the trend suggests a similar decision is possible.
