Stitch Escapes and Joins Adler in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 4
Learn how Stitch escapes a CIA black site, forms a tense alliance with Adler, and returns in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 4 with new rewards.
Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin returns in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone during Season 4, launching Thursday, May 29, 2025. Stitch reenters the franchise storyline after a breakout from a CIA black site located in Iceland. The escape was executed by CIA operative Russell Adler, who previously captured and imprisoned Stitch after the 1968 raid on Rebirth Island.
Stitch was born and raised in the Soviet Union. He graduated at the top of his class in the study of organic substances and pharmaceutical chemistry. Following graduation, he was recruited into the KGB and assigned to Laboratory 12, a research and development facility focused on chemical weapons. In the 1960s, Stitch was transferred to Rebirth Island. His direct commanding officer was Colonel Lev Kravchenko. His assignment was to resume the production of Nova 6, a biochemical weapon originally created by Nazi scientist Friedrich Steiner during World War II.
From 1965 to 1968, Stitch led the production of Nova 6 on Rebirth Island. The facility developed hundreds of barrels of the weapon. In 1968, the CIA discovered the operation and launched a military raid led by Grigori Weaver and Jason Hudson. During the raid, Friedrich Steiner was assassinated. Stitch was captured by Russell Adler, who attempted to interrogate him. Stitch only disclosed his name and rank. In response, Adler gouged out Stitch’s left eye.
After the raid, Stitch was transported back to the Soviet Union. He was found guilty of dereliction of duty for failing to defend the Rebirth Island facility. Colonel Kravchenko stripped him of rank and sent him to the Petropavlovsk Gulag in Russia. There, Stitch shed his old identity, Vikhor Kuzmin, and assumed the name “Stitch.”
In prison, his hatred for both the West and the Soviet Union intensified. During a violent prison attack, Stitch went missing. It was later confirmed that Perseus operatives were responsible for his escape. Perseus was an international spy network composed of rogue military operatives. After the original leader of Perseus died, Stitch assumed command of the organization.
Stitch later baited Adler to a shopping mall in New Jersey, where a hidden Nova 6 production site was active. There, Stitch ambushed Adler and captured him. Using MKUltra techniques, he attempted to brainwash Adler. His goal was to use the renewed Nova 6 supply in a chemical attack on Verdansk.
Adler broke free from Stitch’s control and destroyed the facility beneath Verdansk with explosives. Jason Hudson and Alex Mason deprogrammed Adler. The CIA then tracked Stitch to the mountainous region of Kastovia. After a final confrontation, Adler chose not to execute Stitch. He rather had him incarcerated at an off-the-books CIA black site in Iceland.
As of May 2025, a new global threat emerged—Pantheon, a covert network of embedded intelligence moles. To uncover them, Adler arranged Stitch’s extraction from the Icelandic prison. Stitch’s knowledge is essential to decode Pantheon’s codenames and operations. His release forms the narrative basis for Black Ops 6 Season 4.
Stitch is available as a playable operator through the Season 4 Battle Pass. Upon purchasing the pass, players unlock the “Supermax” Stitch Operator Skin. This skin depicts Stitch in orange prison attire, wearing his stitched black mask. The Battle Pass also includes a 10% Battle Pass XP boost, a Legendary Emote, a Weapon Blueprint, a Large Decal, and up to 1,100 COD Points.
Upgrading to the BlackCell version of the Battle Pass unlocks the “Supermax BlackCell” Stitch Operator Skin. This version features Stitch in a black hood and draped in chains. His skin is semi-translucent and glows faintly, with energy pulsing through his veins. His stare is fixed and menacing.
The Battle Pass Completion Page unlocks the “Yard Dog” and “Yard Dog BlackCell” Stitch skins. In these, Stitch’s stitched mask features a wide, terrifying grin. His appearance is more aggressive and stylized.
On Page 12 of the Battle Pass, players unlock Adler’s “Truth Chaser” and “Truth Chaser BlackCell” Operator Skins. These are visual references to Adler’s past with Stitch, especially the events on Rebirth Island in 1968.
Before Season 4 launches, the final Double XP event for Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 3 runs from Friday, May 23, 2025, to Monday, May 26, 2025. The event began at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time on May 23 and ended at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time on May 26. The event provides double player XP and double Battle Pass XP but does not include double weapon XP. Players seeking to level up weapons such as the Kilo 141 or CR-56 AMAX will not benefit from this boost. The double XP applies to both Black Ops 6 and Warzone during this time.
Season 3 introduced several weapons, including the HDR sniper rifle, the CR-56 AMAX assault rifle, and the Ladra SMG from the High Art event. These weapons remain available to players who complete the Season 3 Battle Pass before May 29.
Additionally, new gameplay elements have been discovered in the Black Ops 6 game files. On May 19, 2025, Twitter user @viipeter shared footage of a wall running on the multiplayer map “Scud.” This movement mechanic was previously featured in Black Ops 3, which was set in the 2060s. The new footage shows shorter, grounded wall runs with no boost-jumping, possibly indicating a more realistic implementation. It is unclear whether this is leftover content, a test for a future limited-time mode, or part of the 2025 Call of Duty game, rumored to be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, which was set in the year 2025.
Treyarch Studios has also confirmed the return of several party modes. “Prop Hunt” and “Gun Game” have already returned to Black Ops 6. “One in the Chamber” is scheduled to return in Season 4. Another new mode has been teased with the description “Last team standing,” though no additional details have been released.
