New Halo games and studio changes announced

Future games in the shooter series will switch to Unreal engine

Posted on

Microsoft and the new Halo Studios have unveiled their plans for the future of the Xbox series.

Studio Head Pierre Hintze and COO Elizabeth van Wyck have shared that 343 Industries has been rebranded into Halo Studios. They have also confirmed that multiple new games are in development for the franchise.

Another major change is a switch from the Slipspace engine which has been growing old, to the Unreal Engine. The change allows for more flexibility for the studio and its future projects.

More details can be found at the Xbox Newswire.
