Assassin's Creed Shadows delayed
Ubisoft pushes back the open world game to 2025
Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be delayed to February 14, 2025.
The open world action game was originally scheduled to launch this November. In a statement, the publisher said that "while the game is feature complete, the learnings from the Star Wars Outlaws release led us to provide additional time to further polish the title. This will enable the biggest entry in the franchise to fully deliver on its ambition, notably by fulfilling the promise of our dual protagonist adventure."
The game will also not use the typical Season Pass model, with no early access, and those who preorder the game will be granted the first expansion for free. The game will also mark the return of Ubisoft games launching on Steam at the same time as other platforms.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes the franchise to 16th century Japan, and promises a number of innovations to the series – including changing seasons and the use of light and shadow.
The title is planned for launch on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
