Battlefield 2042 DLC development ending
Motive Studio joining to work on the next entry in series
The developers behind Battlefield 2042 have said that the most recently released DLC will be the last new content batch for the shooter.
Last month's Season 7 – Turning Point, will serve as the final season for Battlefield 2042. After Season 7 concludes, the team will continue to support the game with new in-game challenges, events, modes, and of course, ongoing maintenance, but no additional content is planned.
The group is now moving on to development of next game, and they will be assisted by Motive Studios – creators of Dead Space remake and Star Wars: Squadrons. They are joining DICE, Criterion, and Ripple Effect in building a Battlefield universe across connected multiplayer experiences and single-player.
Battlefield 2042 made its debut in 2021.
