Prototype 2 revealed
Sequel to Radical Entertainment's open-world game confirmed
Activision Publishing today confirmed that Prototype 2 is currently in development for a 2012 at Radical Entertainment. Gamers also be on the lookout for the exclusive, in-depth first look preview of the game in EGM magazine's April 2011 issue.
"When Prototype surpassed 2M units we knew gamers would want a sequel to find out what happens next with Alex Mercer," said Ken Rosman, Studio Head, Radical Entertainment. "The team here at Radical is sincerely grateful to the fans and we are laser focused on delivering an even bigger and better experience with Prototype 2!"
Additionally, for those that missed out on the game, or fans dying to reawaken their shape-shifting skills, Radical Entertainment's original action game Prototype is available now for download on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 for $29.99, and will be available for download on December 14, 2010 on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 for the same price.
Prototype 2 is an expected "M" rating - because players will still be able to karate kick helicopters right out of the sky and do all sorts of really gory stuff with tendrils; but mostly because Heller is really pissed off at Alex Mercer and there's no way to tell that story without getting a little...well...gross.
Prototype 2 is coming in 2012, and no platforms were yet announced but PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 are expected.
