Season 5 detailed for Battlefield 2042
New map and weapons coming in June
Season 5 of Battlefield 2042 is coming on June 7. It will feature a new map in Czechia, set around an abandoned factory reclaimed by nature. Three new weapons will be available: XCE Bar bolt-action rifle, the GEW-46 assault rifle, and the BFP.50 hand cannon. There will also be three new grenades, including a mini-grenade and an anti-tank grenade.
The season pass will come with 100 tiers of content, including typical cosmetics and XP boosters. All items that impact gameplay can be acquired without buying the season pass. A new seasonal XP boost offers +20% earn rate. Unlike the previous seasons, there is no new specialist coming with season 5.
Some changes to vehicle loadouts are also coming with season 5 patch. The LATV4 Recon will no longer have explosive weapons, and instead be tuned for an anti-infantry role. Thermal sights will be available for vehicles, and players can choose between thermals or optical zoom. Tanks will also have an option to decouple aim from turning.
The Battlefield 2042 Elite Edition was also recently launched, and it incorporates all the content from the previous seasons. The Elite Edition is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through the EA app, Steam, and EPIC. Although no details have been confirmed, there is speculation that season 5 might be the last one for Battlefield 2042.
