Mortal Kombat 1 announced
Reimagined fighting game coming in September
NetherRealm Studios have announced Mortal Kombat 1 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch. The game is due out for release on September 19, 2023. Players who pre-order the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S can access the Beta, which will take place in August 2023. Those that purchase the Premium Edition or Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition will have early access to the game beginning September 14, 2023.
Mortal Kombat 1 will feature reimagined fighters, including Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and many others. The game is also going to include Kameo fighters, chosen separately from the main roster of fighters. They assist during matches, creating expanded gameplay options. The game will have a Story mode and various online and offline modes.
The first Mortal Kombat game was released in 1992 and the most recent title, Mortal Kombat 11, came out in 2019. The franchise has sold around 80 million units in total since its inception.
