E3 2023 event canceled
No digital or in-person show will happen this June
The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and partner ReedPop, the event production company, have made a brief announcement that E3 2023 is officially cancelled.
E3 2023 planned to return to the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) for a four-day expo this June. It would have been the first in-person event since E3 2019, as the past few shows were cancelled due to the COVID pandemic.
Now, it seems this year's show is entirely called-off, as the organizers posted a brief tweet to confirm the news. This would have been the first-ever E3 event that would have been hosted by ReedPop on behalf of ESA. However, in recent months, very little about the show was known to the public, and numerous publishers either wouldn't commit or said they would be skipping the show.
E3 (short for Electronic Entertainment Expo) is a trade event for the video game industry. E3 includes an exhibition floor for developers, publishers, and manufacturers to showcase their titles and products.
