Konami and its partners have made a number of announcements related to the Silent Hill horror franchise.
First up, Konami and developer Bloober Team have announced a remake of Silent Hill 2. The game promises to recreate the original horror game with modern visuals, gameplay mechanics and controls. Further details are promised in the future, and no launch date has yet been set - but it is planned for PS5 and PC release.
Next, Konami also announced Silent Hill: Townfall. This title will be co-published with Annapurna Interactive, and developed by NoCode, creators of Stories Untold and Observation. Little is known about this title as well, with no launch window or platforms.
Last but not least, Konami and NeoBards Entertainment are creating a title called Silent Hill F. The new game will be a completely new story set in 1960s Japan featuring a new horrifying world. It will be written by Ryukishi07, famed for Japanese visual novels dealing with murder mysteries, psychological and supernatural horror. Once again, no platforms or release window was announced.
Silent Hill is a horror anthology media franchise centered on a series of survival horror video games. The franchise has expanded to include various print pieces, two feature films, and spin-off video games. As of 2013, the game series has sold over 8.4 million copies worldwide.
