The Sims 4 going free to play
Life simulation title will offer the game game for free starting in October
EA has announced that beginning on October 18, 2022, The Sims 4 base game will be available to all new players to download for free.
Ahead of that, from September 14 through October 17, all players who have purchased The Sims 4 base game will receive the Desert Luxe Kit as a gift. With the Desert Luxe Kit, Sims can relax in their modern oasis with luxurious indoor and outdoor furniture, inspired by the natural landscape of the Southwestern desert and materials like stone and wood.
The game first released in 2014 and has since saw hundreds of DLC and item packs launched as extra paid content. The developers pledge that new priced content will continue to be released for the game after October.
The Sims 4 is available and will become free on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One systems. It's also playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S via backward compatibility.
