DOOM Eternal gets next gen update this month
Promising improved visuals, increased performance and support for ray-tracing
Bethesda has announced that DOOM Eternal will be getting its next gen update for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on June 29.
This free update optimizes DOOM Eternal for new consoles, promising improved visuals, increased performance and support for ray-tracing, or 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, or an optional 120 FPS mode.
Xbox Series X features Performance Mode: 1800p – 120 FPS; Balanced Mode: 2160p – 60 FPS; and Ray Tracing Mode: 1800p – 60 FPS. Xbox Series S offers Performance Mode: 1080p – 120 FPS; and Balanced Mode: 1440p – 60 FPS.
PlayStation 5 offers Performance Mode: 1584p – 120 FPS; Balanced Mode: 2160p – 60 FPS; and Ray Tracing Mode: 1800p – 60 FPS.
The next-gen update is also coming to PC, granting players ray-tracing on compatible machines.
DOOM Eternal was first released on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 in 2020.
