Sea of Solitude coming to Switch
Adventure game will be ported as The Director's Cut
Quantic Dream and the Berlin-based studio Jo-Mei have announced a new partnership for the publishing and distribution of Sea of Solitude: The Director’s Cut, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch system, scheduled for launch on March 4, 2021.
Sea of Solitude takes players on a personal journey to overcome a young woman’s inner loneliness. Players must help Kay see below the surface and beyond, guiding her through a flooded city landscape. As waters rise and fall to reflect her own state of mind, Kay will meet fantastical creatures and monsters, learn their stories and solve challenges to rid the world of tainted memories.
The Director’s Cut is an improved version of the original game, with a set of new features and enhancements designed specifically for the Nintendo Switch. The dialogue has been rewritten with the help of author Stephen Bell and a new cast of actors have re-recorded all the game's dialogue to provide a fully dubbed experience in French, English, Spanish, Japanese and German.
The Director’s Cut also features a new photo mode with the ability to change the climate, as well as the integration of the gyroscope functionality of the Nintendo Switch to control Kay’s flare.
Sea of Solitude was first released in 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and was published by EA.
