Sackboy: A Big Adventure online multiplayer delayed
Game will launch with solo and local co-op only
Sony has announced that Sackboy: A Big Adventure will launch without online multiplayer.
The developers say additional time is needed to make the online functionality work as expected. The online play modes will be added as a free patch before the end of 2020. This patch will also include sross-generation multiplayer where PS4 and PS5 users can play together, and game save transfers from PS4 to PS5.
As such, on launch day the game will only offer offline couch co-op party play. 2-4 player parties can play through the whole game including co-op only levels.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure is set to release next week, alongside the new PlayStation 5 console.
