PlayStation 5 controller revealed as the DualSense
Sony shows the first look at the new controller for its next gen system
Sony has revealed the DualSense wireless controller, the device that you'll be using with the upcoming PlayStation 5.
The new controller will look similar to PS4's DualShock 4, but with a few key changes. DualSense will feature haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for the L2 and R2 buttons. The controller will have a changed angle of the hand triggers and also made some subtle updates to the grip. The console makers also promise they made progress to maintain a strong battery life for DualSense’s rechargeable battery, and to lessen the weight of the controller as much as possible as new features were added.
There is no longer a “Share” button, replaced by a new “Create” button feature. Details on this will be released at a later date.
DualSense also adds a built-in microphone array, which will enable players to chat with friends without a headset. But of course, the headset is still supported.
Lastly, the developers went in a different direction this time around, and decided on a two-toned color design. Additionally, they changed the position of the light bar that will give it an extra pop.
DualSense will launch alongside the PS5 later this year.
