PlayStation to skip E3 2020
Sony makes the choice to miss the summer event for the second year in a row
Sony has said that PlayStation will not be a part of E3 2020, marking the second year in a row that the publisher will skip the industry event.
Talking to GI, a company spokesperson stated: "We have great respect for the ESA as an organization, but we do not feel the vision of E3 2020 is the right venue for what we are focused on this year."
"We will build upon our global events strategy in 2020 by participating in hundreds of consumer events across the globe."
This approach sounds like Sony will opt for consumer-facing events as it ramps up towards the PlayStation 5 console release later this year, rather than competing at a crowded E3 event.
