The Witcher 2 confirmed, Alpha gameplay leaked
Get your first glimpse at The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings in this developer interview!
The first gameplay footage and confirmation that Witcher 2 is in development has been released via a YouTube video, which claims to be a leak rather than an official release.
From the trailer, we can gather than it is likely a video that was meant to be used to find a publisher for the game, rather than generate a public interest so early in the creative process.
The video covers various aspects of the game in development. The graphics have been overhawled, but the engine remains the same. Dynamic day and night cycles are now further enhanced with creative shadows and better weather effects. Imrpovements are also made to the Witcher's world, where NPCs are promised to be more alive-like, and more interactions will be avaliable.
The fighting system and dynamic finisher moves have also been improved, and with the addition of better physics and animations, the battles promise to be bloody and memorable. One big addition are quicktime events during boss battles - the trailer showcases one such example, and it could make the bosses a bit more fun to play instead of simply matching your attack moves over and over.
No platforms were announced, so it is assumed that the game is for PC only at this time. It can also be seen during quick time events that a mouse is used. We will be sure to keep you updated on the latest news on this exciting RPG!
