Gears of War 5 launching in September

Gears of War 5 is coming on September 10. Any gamers that want four days early access can purchase the ultimate edition or get the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. As the game gets ready for release, players will have a chance to experience parts of it over the coming months.

Gears 5 will feature a new Escape mode that involves a three player suicide squad that will aim to take out hives from within. Also included is a map builder, which lets players create custom Escape maps to share with friends. Players can try it at select MS stores through June 10. Versus mode will debut in July with a Tech Test. Those who have the Xbox Game Pass will have access to this beta. Horde mode will come in August with a gameplay debut at gamescom.

Finally the campaign will debut with the release of Gears 5 into Early Access on September 6. Kait Diaz breaks away to uncover her connection to the enemy. It is said to be the biggest campaign ever with three-player split screen co-op.
