Sony plans to skip E3 2019
PlayStation will not be appearing at next year's industry show
Sony Interactive Entertaining has said that PlayStation will not be attending E3 2019.
“As the industry evolves, Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to look for inventive opportunities to engage the community. As a result, we have decided not to participate in E3 in 2019. We are exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community in 2019 and can’t wait to share our plans with you. We will not activate or hold a press conference around E3," the company told Game Informer.
The announcement comes after Sony chose not to host their annual fan event called PlayStation Experience, or PSX, this year, which usually takes place in the first two weeks of December.
To counter this disappointing news, ESA, the foundation behind E3, made an announcement to confirm a few of the leading video game companies already committed to participating in E3 2019: Microsoft/Xbox, Nintendo of America, Activision, Bethesda Softworks, Capcom, Epic Games, Konami Digital Entertainment, Square Enix, Take-Two Interactive Software, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
