Four existing developers added to the stable, and a brand new one opening

Posted on

At E3 2018 Xbox Media Briefing, Head of Gaming Phil Spencer has announced several new investments Microsoft is making to vastly increase our resources for developing original content.

The publisher has announced the acquisition of multiple studios. First up is Ninja Theory, who are best known for recently released Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, as well as DmC and Enslaved.

The second studio snapped up is Playground Games, who have been putting out the great Forza Horizon series for the past few years.

The third studio acquired is Undead Labs, who have created the State of Decay franchise and its sequel.

Lastly, Compulsion Games is the fourth studio purchased, who are currently working on We Happy Few.

Also, Microsoft announced the formation of a new studio called The Initiative, a new first-party game studio based in Santa Monica, California.
