Progression changes coming to Star Wars Battlefront II
Linear progression system begins on March 21
DICE and EA have revealed that major changes are coming to the progression system for Star Wars Battlefront II, beginning March 21. Players will now earn experience points through normal play. These experience points can be used to unlock Star Cards for the respective trooper, hero, or Starfighter classes. Everything already earned will remain unlocked.
Crates will no longer be up for purchase with credits. Logging in each day, completing milestones, and beating challenges will be the only way to get crates. The contents of crates will no longer contain Star Cards (or any other gameplay affecting items) and instead have cosmetics such as emotes or victory poses.
In April, appearances will be purchasable directly with in-game credits or Crystals. Cosmetics for heroes and troopers will be coming soon, like Rodian heads for ground soldiers. The Crystals can be acquired by spending money either in game or via other retail stores.
More modes and balance patches are planned. There is no word on when the second season will commence. Star Wars Battlefront II released in November 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
