Gigantic to shut down this summer
The free to play action game will close following staff layoffs
Developer Motiga has announced that their free to play, third person action game Gigantic will be shut down on July 31, 2018.
The developers have released the final game update this week, and made some notable changes to the unlockable content in Gigantic. All Heroes are now Free, and it's no longer possible to buy Rubies and Hero Packs. All content unlockable with in-game currency is reduced in price. There will also be unique skins handed out.
Publisher Perfect World announced in November that the studio had laid off most of the team working on the title.
Gigantic was first announced during E3 in 2015, went through a few beta stages, and formally launched just last summer. It was available on PC and Xbox One.
