Gears of War 4 enhanced for Xbox One X
Third person shooter will support 4K, two different rendering options
Microsoft has announced new details about the Gears of War 4 features for the Xbox One X.
Xbox One X owners will have two Preferred Rendering Options to choose from in Gears of War 4 – Visuals and Performance. With Performance mode, for the first time ever, Gears of War will play at up to 60fps in 1080p in Campaign and Horde. Visuals mode, meanwhile, uses Ultra Quality Textures, a wealth of new and improved graphical features all at 4K resolution (3840×2160) and 30fps. High Dynamic Range will provide increased contrast between lights and darks.
In both Rendering modes, Versus will run at a 4K 60FPS (with adaptive resolution scaling). On Xbox One X, dynamic shadows now react true to the lighting conditions and movement of objects. There will also be increased draw distances and better reflections.
The Xbox One X patch for Gears of War 4 is said to be released in the near future. The Xbox One X console launches November 7.
