Star Wars Battlefront II takes some loot out of the loot boxes
Crates and progression system changed because of player feedback
EA and DICE have made some changes to the progression system in Star Wars Battlefront II. Based on player feedback from the beta, the crates and class unlocks will be accessed differently in the final game.
Epic Star Cards, the highest tier star cards, have been removed from loot crates. Now you’ll need to craft them instead. You won’t be able to craft the best cards immediately by grinding crates for crafting materials, as you will have to rank up to a certain level first. Weapons will be locked behind objectives, so unlocking a heavy weapon will require play time as the heavy class and so forth. Playing each class will give you Star Cards and gear for that specific class.
Star Wars Battlefront II will not have a season pass, all future weapons, maps, heroes, and vehicles will be available to all players who own the base game. The crate and progression system is subject to change after release.
Star Wars Battlefront II will release on November 17, 2017 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. Subscribers to Origin Access (PC) and EA Access (Xbox One) can play the game for 10 hours starting on November 9th.
