First episode released for Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Square Enix and Deck Nine Games have released the first episode of the three-part prequel to Life is Strange. "Awake" is the first episode in Life is Strange: Before the Storm, and it takes place in Arcadia Bay before the time-bending events of the original game.

The new game sees players take the role of 16 year-old Chloe Price who forms a friendship with Rachel Amber and it is set three years before the events of the original game.

Square Enix Vice President for Brand Marketing Jon Brooke said: "It's designed to remind us that life is all about our relationships and a strong friendship can change everything."

Life is Strange: Before the Storm is being created by a different studio than the original and the voice actor for Chloe Price was unable to reprise her role due to the ongoing voice actor strike. The second episode is due in 8-11 weeks, putting its release at the start of November. The final episode will probably release early next year.

The first episode in Life is Strange: Before the Storm is out now on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
