The Frozen North expansion coming to Conan Exiles this month
The new free update will launch alongside Xbox One debut for the game
The next phase of Conan Exiles’ Early Access program will kick off later this month, Funcom has announced.
On August 16th, Conan Exiles will go live on Xbox One for the first time ever; Funcom will also release its first expansion update for the game for both PC and Xbox One players, called The Frozen North.
The Frozen North, which will be free, adds a new landmass and makes the world almost 70% bigger. It also brings the game out of the desert and into the snowy north, introducing an entirely new climate and a weather system that will require players to dress according to the temperature. The Frozen North also introduces new gameplay mechanics such as fish traps, beekeeping, and cooking. Brewing, a new crafting system, will allow players to make alcohol which will also keep them warm in cold environments.
Conan Exiles sold almost half a million units in the first month of Early Access. In this online survival game players get to build anything from small homes to cities, explore a large open world, team up with other players, or fight them in combat.
The game plans to leave Early Access and release in full on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in Q1 2018.
