GT Sport will introduce Porsche to the franchise

Sony has announced that Porsche will be making its franchise debut in Gran Turismo Sport.

The German manufacturer has sporadically appeared in other racing video games, most commonly EA's Need for Speed series due to an exclusive licensing agreement, though in Forza Motorsport as DLC as well. Now that the exclusivity agreement has ran its course, the brand is likely to appear across many more games, including Gran Turismo.

This marks the first time that Porsche will appear in a GT game, a franchise that has been around for 20 years. No exact information is known about which cars or even how many total will appear in the upcoming game.

Gran Turismo Sport is currently in closed beta, and is expected to release on the PlayStation 4 this year.
