Torchlight coming Oct 2009
Diablo veterans are working on an action RPG called Torchlight, coming on October 27th to PC.
Torchlight will be released on October 27th and retail for $19.99 USD.
Diablo veterans who were previously working at Flagship Studios (Hellgate: London) have been working on an action RPG called Torchlight for some time now. Torchlight is an action RPG thats very similar to Diablo in the way it plays, isometric action. Torchlight will be a teaser to an upcoming MMO based around the same universe. Torchlight will be free to play but the MMO will not. Runic games are the developers of Torchlight.
Torchlight is generating a bit of interest from the community due the similarities between Diablo and Mythos. Mythos was an action RPG that Flagship studios was working on with Hellgate in order to test things like netcode out. In the end they opened the game up to beta users and many were quite impressed with the game. Mythos is currently in the hands of another developer after Flagship closed down.
Torchlight will feature pets that can take your items back to town and sell them, gold that is automatically picked up,. randomized dungeons, customisable characters and more.
