Scalebound has been cancelled
Microsoft confirms that the action game is no longer in development
Microsoft has confirmed that the upcoming Xbox One and PC exclusive Scalebound has been cancelled.
In a brief statement, the company said: "After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for “Scalebound.” We’re working hard to deliver an amazing lineup of games to our fans this year."
The cancellation follows a lengthy period of silence from developers at PlatinumGames. The game was first announced back in 2014, but since then there have been few updates apart from a trailer, and a plan for the game to ship in 2016.
It was being worked on at Platinum Games with game director Hideki Kamiya. Scalebound was focused around players controlling and working together with formidable dragons.
