Overwatch is free to play this weekend
Try Blizzard's multiplayer shooter on all platforms
Overwatch is going to be free to play this weekend on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. To play, Xbox gamers will need an Xbox Live Gold membership and PlayStation gamers will need PlayStation Plus subscription. PC gamers only need a free Battle.net account.
The free weekend, starting November 18, will give players access to the entire game. This includes 23 heroes, 13 maps, and 4 game modes. The main game modes available are Assault, Escort, Assault/Escort hybrid, and Control. A new offensive Hero, Sombra, was just released in a patch.
Free players can rank up during the weekend and unlock loot boxes that contain skins / sprays / voice lines etc. All of this progress, and the corresponding loot, will carry over if players decide to purchase the full game.
The download size for Overwatch is about 12GB and the free weekend will begin 11:00 a.m. PST on Nov 18 and last until Nov 21 at 4:00 p.m. PST. Any prospective players who wish to know more can head over to the blog on the Blizzard website - htps://playoverwatch.com/en-us/blog/20372506
