Gears of War 4 released
Shooter franchise makes its debut on the Xbox One
Microsoft has announced that Gears of War 4 is available starting today.
Set 25 years after the end of Gears of War 3, with Marcus Fenix's son JD Fenix as the lead character. Owing to the people of Sera rebuilding their society after the Locust war, the game's new weapons are inspired by construction equipment. The game features a new enemy faction known as "the Swarm".
Gears of War 4 also features cross-play on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC across all modes (campaign, Horde and Co-op versus) and versus multiplayer cross-play in private matches. As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, you’ll get both versions with one digital purchase and be able to switch seamlessly between them, as all game progress, Gamerscore and Achievements are saved on and accessible through Xbox Live.
After today’s launch, developers plan to add new content and maps into the playlist rotation every month (for a total of 24 DLC maps).
Gears of War 4 is available worldwide on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
